Many have focused upon the boundaries and forgotten the power. New Direction is your safe place to grow and growth requires power. The vision of 2004 is to teach you more each week of how to harvest the power within the boundaries. In fact as you begin to abound in the power of the Holy Spirit you will find the boundaries don’t restrict you but like the seat belts of a fighter pilot keep you where you are most effective. I will be encouraging your participatory learning. For as you practice so you perform. If you live beneath the practice you will live beneath the privilege. Points of emphasis will be: Personal Growth – New Direction E Disciplines: 1. 30/30 – 30 minutes a day of prayer and 30 minutes a day of devotional reading 2. 3x30 – 30 minutes of exercise three times a week. 3. 2x15 – twice a week 15 minutes of praying with your spouse (pray with a friend or with your children if you’re not married). 4. 1/30 – once a month join in corporate prayer (a prayer meeting once a month, start one at church if you can't make the ones we have). 5. 2/7 – twice a week reread Personal Goals. Write them if you haven’t written them yet) 6. Email (or submit a report sheet) each and every week the reports of your faithfulness to these disciplines (even if you did really bad ) 7. Faithfully pray for the people in New Direction as you read their e-reports or prayer requests 8. Respond to each person with a “you go Bro or Sis” when they do well and a “we got to come up” when they miss it. 9. Meet at least once a month and discuss and encourage personal growth. (on your assigned Thursday night) 10. No Smoke Blowing .” (be honest)
Relational Growth: Practice giving and receiving, “Grace and Truth”. Pastor Jordan will be publishing a pamphlet detailing the scriptural and relational truths these 3 words are sent to you to communicate. Church Growth: Acts 2:42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. Verses 43 – 47 go on to share the results of the actions of those faithful church members. Their actions earned them the privilege of becoming the foundation of the Christian Church. You can
become a foundation for the growth of those who will join New Direction
C.O.G.B.F. if you will practice the same 4. tasks of: Financial Growth: 2 Chronicles 7:13-14 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people. If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins, and will heal their land. Humility First, in the plan of God, God leads we follow. To reach the place of success and blessing we must follow. As we follow, we will pray daily. With humility and prayer we will seek him in our time of devotion. If we repent of our ways, we will be forgiven and our Father God will heal the land that produces our blessings and provision. Then we can break up our fallow ground and abound in the blessings of God. He wants to heal our land and return it and us to productivity. Financial blessings will be ours as the rain of God’s blessings return, the locusts of trouble will be banished and the pestilences that corrupt our produce are healed. |
